ScreenDance Festival 2014

ScreenDance Festival 2014

Welcome to celebrate the International Dance Day with dance films, two lectures, a discussion panel and the Swedish 60secondsdance Prize Ceremony.

Our aim is to create an international collaboration and networking by inviting performing artists from Sweden and other countries. The program will want to guarantee good quality by working with experienced people. At the same time, we want to provide the opportunity for artists and audiences to be more active in the whole process before, during and after the festival.

Our special guests are Ximena Monroy (videomaker, performer and screendance festival director), Paulina Ruiz Carballido (dancer, performer, filmmaker, researcher, choreographer and improviser) and Jean-Baptiste Fave (filmmaker with an emphasis on audiovisual and cinematic sound) from Agite y Sirva.

This year  2014 Screendance Festival starts with 60secondsdance a collaboration with support of Nordic Culture Fond. 60secondsdance is an international online competition for dance films with the duration of one minute. The competition is co-produced by three partners: Loikka Dance Film Festival (FI), Dansehallerne/ScreenMoves (DK) and ScreenDance Festival (SE). The idea of the project offers international artists an opportunity to showcase their 60 seconds dance film for a wide audience. Screendance Festival together with 60secondsdance collaboration countries will present and screen the Top 10 in different venues, festivals and broadcasting networks in Finland, Danmark and Sweden. As well to a large number of audiences in urban and peripheral localities in each country.
